Day School
Unlike most “daycares”, our day school program is designed to have the structure dogs crave along with continued training, physical activity, and mental activity. The average daycare is more of a “free for all” where dogs play in large groups for hours on end. We find that this is not a healthy outlet for dogs as it can often create more behavioral issues. Dogs struggle to learn how to settle during a day of non stop play. It also creates a dog who feels the need to play with every dog they see even when it is not the time, valuing other dogs over their owner.
So what is Day School?
Leash walks
Training sessions: either learning a new activity or refresher on something owners are struggling with. This can range from furthering obedience, to tricks and sports!
One on one play with one of our staff: Tug, frisbee, retrieves, flirt pole, etc.
Pack hikes
Trips in public to the park, store, etc.
Treadmill
Socialization.
Enrichment/mind games with puzzle toys/feeders
And more!
Who qualifies for Day School?
Day school is only for dogs that have already been trained by us through either board and train, private sessions, or day training. It is not first come first serve, clients must apply for a spot. We then take into consideration the dogs that would be the best fit.
Space is extremely limited to 4-5 dogs max per day so they can get our full attention.
Details:
Daycare is held Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Cost is $55/day + tax per dog. There will not be any discount for multi-dog households as day school is meant to give individualized attention to each dog here.
Any cancellations must be made 48hrs in advance of a scheduled day or else it’ll be the clients responsibility to pay for the day. This is so that we have adequate time to fill the spot with somebody else. There is plenty we can still do in the cold or rainy weather.
Drop off and pick up times are 7:30am-9am and 4:30pm-6pm. Please be respectful of these times. We don’t allow clients to come and go randomly throughout the day. We leave for hikes, walks, training sessions, etc. but we are sure to be back by the pick up time schedule. If you arrive early, we may not be back yet. If a client drops off late in the morning it messes with the whole days schedule and we are stuck waiting to get the day started until the last dog arrives.
Dogs must be brought into the building on a leash and brought out and into the car on leash. Even if your dog is good off leash, it is a liability for us if they approach an aggressive dog, human, or the road.
We require dogs be current on the rabies and distemper vaccine as well as flea/tick medication and have negative fecal samples. We need a copy of their veterinary records on file here.
